Pink Beach Lombok is one of the island’s most photogenic stops. Locals call it Tangsi Beach. It sits on the southeast coast, in Sekaroh village, Jerowaru district, East Lombok. The sand looks soft pink because tiny pieces of red coral mix with the white sand.

This guide covers how to get there, ticket prices, the best time to visit, and what to expect when you travel with family. Let’s start with why this beach is worth the drive.

What Makes Pink Beach Lombok Special?

First, the color. In the right light, the shoreline glows in gentle shades of pink. The effect is subtle, so don’t expect a bubblegum beach. However, it is unlike most beaches you will see.

Second, the setting. The beach is far from the main tourist areas, so it often feels peaceful. The water is calm and suitable for swimming, and the reef is a good spot for snorkeling.

There is also a viewpoint on the hillside. Popbela reported that a rock outcrop here went viral on social media in early 2026, so expect photographers around the main spot.

One more thing: don’t confuse this beach with the Pink Beach near Labuan Bajo in Komodo National Park. They are different places in different provinces.

How to Get to Pink Beach Lombok

By road. The beach is about 100 km from Lombok International Airport. Reported travel times are roughly 2 hours from the airport and 2 to 2.5 hours from Mataram. From the Senggigi area, allow a little more time. The best option for families is a private car with a driver-guide, as Elite Havens also recommends. Older reports describe a bumpy final stretch, so a driver who knows the route helps a lot.

By boat. You can also hire a boat from Tanjung Luar Port in East Lombok. Boat trips often combine Pink Beach with snorkeling stops. Ask about the current price and duration before you book.

Because the drive is long, we suggest starting early and planning at least one rest stop. This is especially helpful for young kids and grandparents.

Best Time to Visit Pink Beach Lombok

For the best color, go in the late morning to early afternoon, roughly 10:00–14:00. Bright sunlight makes the sand look pinker. The general daylight window recommended by local media is 08:00–16:00.

Also consider the season. The drier months, roughly April to October, are generally more comfortable for the long road trip and for boat conditions. In the rainy season, check the weather before you go.

What to Do at Pink Beach Lombok

  • Swim in calm water. The waves are gentle, but there are no lifeguards on duty, so stay close to children.
  • Snorkel the reef. Colorful coral and tropical fish make it a good spot for beginners.
  • Relax on a sunbed. Simple loungers and umbrellas are available for a small fee.
  • Try local snacks. Small warungs sell drinks, fresh coconuts, and food.
  • Walk up the hill. An easy hike of about 30 minutes leads to a shaded berugak, a traditional hut with a wide view.

Tips for Visiting With Family

  1. Bring essentials. Pack water, sunscreen, hats, and water shoes. Facilities are basic.
  2. Carry cash. Tickets, sunbeds, and warungs usually take cash only.
  3. Supervise swimmers. Remember, there are no lifeguards.
  4. Skip the hill if needed. The hike is optional, so grandparents can enjoy the beach below.
  5. Combine it with other stops. The long drive is easier when the day includes a lunch break and a scenic stop.
